I'm sure everyone has found free photography related applications, tutorials etc. on the internet that have proved to be useful. Why not share the information for the benefit of others. Here are a couple of my favourites.

An app to fully control your camera from PC, laptop, phone or tablet. Either Wifi or USB. Free for widows, small charge from apple store or google play.

Luminosity masking. Great technique for use with photoshop. Free luminosity actions plug in for photoshop . So impressed with the technique I ended up buying the lumenzia panel.

NIK software. A plug in suite includes Color Efex, Define, Silver efex etc.

As from 7/06 NIK software is no longer free. DXO have decided to charge. If anyone wants a copy of the previous free version I can pass it on. No doubt the version announced today will have some refinements but the earlier version runs fine on the latest Adobe PS and lightroom.

A free utility to resize your images. Usefull if you are preparing images for monthly competions etc.
Stacking a series of images to increase the depth of field is a common technique but requires software to capture the series of images and combine them into one. Helicon software and Zerene Stacker are two commercial packages but the same results can be achieved with Dslr Dashboard to capture the images and Pickolay to stack them. Both are free.
